I write constantly, always coming up with new storylines and ideas for worlds. When I’m not Worldbuilding, I often write Poetry, Short Stories, and Philosophy (have to use my Philosophy degree somehow :-) )

Worldbuilding

Tokigawa#

The world of Tokigawa is an Alternate History Reimagining of our Present Day, focused in Europe. The central impulse revolves around the discovery of a device that propelled warring nation-states far further in Technological Development than their neighbors. I have written many stories in this world, am currently making a Tactics RPG set in this world, and run DND Campaigns using this setting.

Highlights include:

  • Three Warring Nation-States with Dramatically differing, distinct Ideologies
  • Explorations of the kinds of Technologies different Ideologies embody and adapt
  • Mystical and Esoteric Metaphysics
  • Magic and Technology Co-Existing
  • Explorations of Spirituality in Late-Stage Capitalism and Feudalism
  • Characters as wild as the world they find themselves in

Dead West

Dead West is a Purgatory World where one’s attachments in Life follow them. There are three common responses when a soul finds itself in the Dead West, to try to Escape, to try to Die, and to Settle In.

Highlights include:

  • A Wild West Setting with Magic, Anachronistic Technologies and Cultures
  • Ronin on Motorcycles, they’re just Eastern Cowboys afterall
  • Existential Examinations of Purpose, Attachment, and Meaning
  • A system of Magic that focuses on Real-World Mystical Practices from Native American, Eastern, and Abrahamic Traditions

Dennis’s International House of Waffles

Dennis’s International House of Waffles is a setting I made when I was inspired while waiting for my food at Waffle House one night.

​There was an alarm going off continuously in the kitchen that sounded like one of those Game Show celebratory jingles for when someone won something.

I decided it must be because there actually is a Game Show going on, and continued adding more ridiculous things on top of ridiculous things.

Highlights include:

  • Absurd and Surreal Setting centered on being the only restaurant in a SmallTown(TM) in Alabama.
  • Eldritch Entities, a Secret Organization that tracks and contains these Entities
  • Oscillates rapidly between Surreal, Absurd Humor and Surreal, Absurd Horror
  • Characters people can relate to if they’ve lived in a small town or had a corporate job
